INSPECTION LABELS FOR NON-INSULATED AREAS
To have a successful NDT program in place, inspection labels (spot checks) play a vital role.  In a complete NDT program, both insulated and non-insulated areas must be monitored.  To help you meet these requirements, APF manufactures two different designs in our Inspection Label product line.

BOTH LABELS SHARE THESE COMMON PROPERTIES:

  • BACKING IS 3.5 MIL OF 3M #200 “HIGH PERFORMANCE” ACRYLIC FOR STRONG BONDING ON TEXTURED SURFACES

  • LEACHABLE CHLORIDE, FLUORIDE AND SULFUR IN THE ADHESIVE, AS MEASURED BY ION CHROMATOGRAPH, –PPM- IS 3, LESS THAN 1, LESS THAN 1, RESPECTIVELY

  • OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE IS -40°F TO +300°F.  MINIMUM APPLICATION TEMPERATURE IS 58°F

  • RESISTANT TO CHEMICALS SUCH AS ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, DETERGENTS, ENGINE OILS AND WATERS
"DO NOT REMOVE" Inspection Label THE "DO NOT REMOVE" LABEL MEASURES 1 3/8" DIAMETER WITH A 6/8" SURFACE AVAILABILITY.   "SPOT CHECK" INSPECTION LABEL THE "SPOT CHECK" LABEL MEASURES 1 7/8" SQUARE WITH A 1" SURFACE AVAILABILITY.
OVER LAMINATE IS 3.5 MIL OF MATTE SILVER MYLAR POLYESTER MATERIAL.  MATTE COATING IS RESISTANT TO DEGRADATION FROM SCUFFING, CHEMICALS, MOISTURE AND WIDE TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS. OVER LAMINATE IS 3.5 MIL OF MATTE SILVER FOIL MATERIAL.  FOIL SURFACE IS RESISTANT TO DEGRADATION FROM CHEMICALS, MOISTURE AND WIDE TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS.

You should utilize this label in your NDT program when tracking and identification of the inspection point IS NOT needed.
